Thai Luxury Brand Anantara Enters US Market Through Miami Tower
One Thousand Group secured a branding partnership with Thailand's Anantara Hotels & Resorts for a 50-story mixed-use tower in Edgewater. The project represents Anantara's first US location and includes 270 total units across hotel suites, condos, and resort residences.
Thailand's Anantara Hotels & Resorts will make its United States debut through a 50-story mixed-use tower in Miami's Edgewater neighborhood, marking a significant expansion for the luxury hospitality brand featured in HBO's hit series "The White Lotus."
One Thousand Group, led by Kevin Venger, Louis Birdman, and Michael Konig, has partnered with Minor Hotels, Anantara's Bangkok-based parent company, to develop the project at 3601 Biscayne Boulevard. The developers paid $53 million in late 2024 for the development site, which currently houses a former gas station.
The Anantara Miami Resort & Residences will feature a unique mixed-use structure with 50 hotel suites occupying the first three floors, complemented by 100 branded condominium units and 120 resort residences that can participate in the hotel's rental program. The project is scheduled for completion in 2030.
New York-based Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates is handling the architectural design, while Hollywood-based ODP Architecture & Design serves as a collaborating firm. Milan-based designer Patricia Urquiola will oversee interior design for the luxury development.
The hotel component will include comprehensive wellness amenities, a rooftop helipad, and pool terrace facilities. Anantara gained international recognition after its Thailand properties served as filming locations for the third season of "The White Lotus," significantly raising the brand's profile among luxury travelers.
This development represents One Thousand Group's third project in Greater Downtown Miami. The firm previously developed the Zaha Hadid-designed One Thousand Museum downtown and Villa Miami, a collaboration with Terra and Major Food Group located near Edgewater and Midtown Miami.
Edgewater has emerged as a major development corridor, with more than a dozen residential projects currently underway or in planning phases. The neighborhood historically consisted of single-family homes and low-rise apartment buildings but has transformed into a luxury residential hub.
Miami has established itself as the branded residence capital of the United States, attracting partnerships between luxury hospitality brands and real estate developers. Major names including Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Standard Hotels, Cipriani, Baccarat, and St. Regis have all launched luxury residential projects in the market.
The Anantara project adds to the growing inventory of internationally branded residential developments in South Florida, reflecting continued investor confidence in Miami's luxury real estate market. The combination of hotel amenities with residential ownership has become increasingly popular among high-net-worth buyers seeking both investment returns and lifestyle benefits.
